I've read a lot about compression gear recently , but do people have first person experience with them, while working out and recovery gear? I've talked to a few people and shops, but can't decide they arm like a good idea, and there are benefits, as I'm upping my routine I do believe they will help. Any thoughts?

Compression wear is a bit of a weird one. I remember when I first tried it out I wasn't sure if it was helping much, until I tried skating without it on! Then I noticed how much it was helping my muscles act as I wanted them to. It does help to keep you cool and I found it really benefited muscles that tended to object to the rapid movements of derby. I started using adidas and puma stuff and then moved on to the Skins gear, which I liked but have to admit that the 2XU gear is the best I've skated in.

I haven't tried much recovery gear but can definitely see a strong case for using it, especially if you have multiple bouts in quick succession.

I like the tightness around my buttocks...

but seriously I do...

no truly I find that compression tights have been a useful addition to my derby wear, I started wearing them after my double need op and have found that they give extra support and would recommend them...

most guys on the team wear the well known 2XU leggings, they have a nice sizing chart on their website and the recommend if you're right on the bounder between 2 sizes go for the smaller one for tightness....ohhh tightness....

Ok cool, yeah I have read up on both them and the skins... As i am adding back my strength training routine with Derby it will be 5-6 days a week of training. So I need to find faster recovery between training sessions. I think these will help... Do you wear your Compression during and after training? Wondering if Recovery gear would be beneficial too.. or if you can wear the one for both.. I see different opinions on line. and also they are designed slightly different. hmmm.

well I eat well... sleep that's another story... but working on it.

So, I am pretty sure I will get some, Not sure if the 2xu or Skins at the moment... I like the 3/4 over the full lenght or the shorts but was looking at the compression socks...

or Should I just go for the full length instead?

Do people have a prefernce?

I have both 3/4 and full length....I tend to default to the 3/4 unless doing multiple bouts in a day
